I am the son of small business owners.
I’m a native of Cape Coral, FL where my parents owned and operated a small residential water treatment company. I grew up going on service calls or working in the warehouse. My parents taught me the value of hard work and also instilled in me a deep appreciation for small business. I firmly believe that small business is the backbone of the American economy.
I understand service.
I decided in 6th grade that I wanted to fly for the Navy. I attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and was honored to serve for over ten years as a Navy pilot, flying the C-2A Greyhound and deploying three times across the Pacific Ocean, South China Sea, Indian Ocean and Arabian Gulf. I was fortunate enough to serve and lead some of the finest our nation has to offer. The C-2A mission is Carrier Onboard Delivery. We provided logistics support to aircraft carriers at sea. I like to call it the Navy’s version of FedEx and Spirit Airlines. We would deploy all over the world, operating from the closest airport to wherever the aircraft carrier was. We did this with little outside support. It taught me how to be adaptable, figure things out and lead teams in high pressure situations; all skills that I think will help me run a small business.
Family
My family means the world to me. My girlfriend, Adriana, is my rock and I am forever grateful for her support. I am incredibly blessed to have the love and support of my parents who were small business owners and my sister and brother, both of whom have successful careers in corporate America.
Education
Even before joining the Navy I had an interest in business and chose to major in economics at the Naval Academy. After separating from the Navy I sought to further my education and attended Harvard Business School for my MBA. I focused on Entrepreneurship through Acquisition and took classes on managing small firms. I spent my summer internship working for a small business and building products to assist their sales team.
